Sharing is caring!

Looking for a unique gift for someone who appreciates Korean culture? A Seoulbox subscription could be the ticket!

As someone whose heart remains in South Korea after teaching English there for two years, I was over the moon when Seoulbox first emailed me to review their boxes back in October 2021 (you can peep that Seoulbox review here). So imagine my delight when I was asked to do it again!

This time though, I’m here to share my thoughts on not only the Seoulbox Signature but Seoulbox Life too. In this review, I share more about Seoulbox, what you can find inside, and how it makes for one of the best gifts from Korea for any K-Pop, K-Drama, K- Beauty, and K-Culture fan in your life!

Let’s take a little trip to the streets of Seoul!

A Fun Gift From Korea: Korean Subscription Boxes Offered by Seoulbox

One reason why a Seoulbox monthly subscription makes for a unique gift for someone who appreciates Korean culture, is because of the variety of items that you can receive. Here’s a quick summary of the different Seoulbox options you can choose from:

Seoulbox Signature

The Seoulbox Signature is a classic Korean snack box that’s jam-packed with 18 different goodies. Each box features a balanced mix of salty and sweet so everyone can find something they’ll love. The Seoulbox Signature also includes a couple of fun little gifts like K-Beauty and K-Pop items. Additionally, each month the snacks are centered around a unique theme.

Seoulbox V

If you’re a vegetarian don’t fret! Seoulbox thoughtfully accommodates vegetarians with their Seoulbox V. This Korean snack box is very similar to the Seoulbox Signature, except any non-vegetarian snacks and candies are replaced with items free of animal byproducts. That means even people who don’t eat meat can enjoy Korean treats!

Seoulbox Life

Seoulbox Life is a lifestyle subscription box that allows K-lovers to get a taste of Korean culture in a box. Rather than jam-packed with snacks, this box features various items like mouse pads, skincare, trinkets, stationery, and more. Unlike the Signature and V boxes, the Seoulbox Life is only shipped out once every three months.

My Review of the November 2022 Seoulbox Signature

For this review, I was gifted the November 2022 Seoulbox Signature. The theme for this month’s box was Korean street food. I was beyond excited to receive this month’s box because I LOVED eating Korean street food during my time in Korea. It’s cozy, delicious, and an affordable way to enjoy a Korean treat—especially once the weather gets chilly.

What’s Included in Seoulbox Signature

In every SeoulBox Signature, you’ll find 18 Korean items that include:

  • 14 Korean Snacks (sweet and savory)
  • 1 Korean ramen or instant meal
  • 1 K-Pop/K-Culture item
  • 1 Drink
  • 36-page Seoulbox Magazine
Everything I received in my November 2022 Seoulbox Signature (Street Food theme)

What’s Inside My November Seoulbox Signature

To help you give a better idea of the kinds of snacks you may receive in your box, here are the exact goodies I received!

Seoulbox Signature preview:

  • Creamy Chili Sauce Potato Chips
  • Stubborn Sweet Potato Chips
  • Noodles Fit eomuktang (fishcake soup)
  • Sikhae rice punch
  • Jelly in Jelly Lychee
  • Kimchi fried rice nooroongji (x2)
  • Twisted donut kkwabaegi
  • Korean fried chicken chips
  • Sable butter cookie
  • Yummy puffs
  • Tteokbokki kit
  • Kaya butter shortbread
  • Hotteok fishcake bun
  • 21 crispy roll (x2)
  • Boryeong mud mask
  • BT21 soft keyring

My Thoughts on My Seoulbox Signature

I was pretty pumped when I opened my November Seoulbox Signature and saw many of my favorite street food snacks. Some of my faves included the Tteokbokki kit with sauce (spicy rice cakes), the Hotteok fishcake bun (brown sugar Korean pancake), and the Boryeong Mud Mask. I also loved the twisted donut and that they included Korean fried chicken chips as a nod to the country’s love for fried chicken.

Just like last time, I found the SeoulBox magazine to be very helpful because it features a spread that details what each item is, so you don’t have to worry about knowing Korean and reading the label. I really enjoyed reading this month’s magazine, which featured insightful information about the famous street foods in Korea. The zine goes even further and includes games, recipes, and even street food etiquette to help those that visit Korea—so cool!

As for the shipping, my boxes arrived in really good condition. Everything was packed tight and well, and my snacks arrived without damage except for one slightly cracked puff.

My Review of the November 2022 Seoulbox Life Box

I was also gifted a Seoulbox Life for this review. This month’s Life box didn’t seem to have a particular theme but did include a wintery item and an item that appears tied to the Signature’s street food theme.

What’s Included in Seoulbox Life

In each box you’ll receive 8-10 hand-picked and specially curated items that may include:

  • 1 K-Beauty product
  • 2 K-Pop/D-Drama items
  • 4-5 Korean lifestyle items
  • 36-page Seoulbox Magazine

What’s Inside My November Seoulbox Life Box

If you’re curious about what you may find in your very own Seoulbox Life package, here are the K-Pop and lifestyle items I received.

Seoulbox Life preview:

  • Lucky Charm DIY clay kit
  • Rudolf/Snowman mini blanket
  • Bias photocard book
  • Dynamite buff scarf
  • Holika Holika egg skin peeling gel
  • Four Gate Keepers soju shot glass
  • BT21 mousepad
  • Kakao Friends foldable travel bottle (set of 3)

My Thoughts on SeoulBox Life

Truthfully, I get more excited over the prospect of Korean snacks and foods than K-Pop and lifestyle items, but this was overall a fun box to receive. If you’re not a huge K-Pop fan, I can see how this box may feature an item(s) that doesn’t exactly pertain to you. For example, I received a K-Pop photocard album, and I don’t collect K-Pop photocards. Regardless, I think I’ll be able to put the cute little album to good use as an Instax photo album for my collection.

However, the other items I received were pretty cool and are things I’ll definitely be able to use, like the soju shot glass, mousepad, and cute travel bottles. And I can’t forget the Holika Holika egg skin peeling gel which is probably my favorite item in the whole box ( I’m a sucker for K-Beauty and fun face masks).
